World Education Services (WES) is a nonprofit organization that evaluates credential information for immigrants and international students. Based in New York City, the company also operates in Toronto, Canada. Its mission is to “improve the quality of international education by providing credible, international credential evaluations.”
Documents required by World Education Services
Applicants who are studying abroad will be required to submit documents from their respective countries. The only documents that WES will not accept are those that were educated in India. This policy was updated on December 1, 2018.
The applicant must submit the highest completed credential. Submitting additional credentials may delay the completion of the report. However, those with master’s degrees and doctorates are exempted from the requirement of submitting secondary school records. For more information, see the document requirements for each country. You can also read the instructions on WES’ website. This will make the process go much more smoothly for you. Ultimately, a successful WES report will give you the opportunity to enroll at your dream university.

In its mission, World Education Services promotes the integration of internationally educated individuals and improves global mobility. It operates a foreign credential evaluation service in the United States and Canada. In 2019, World Education Services processed applications for immigration, employment, and education (71%) from around the world. These applications are required for various reasons, such as a skilled worker’s visa or a green card. Depending on the country, the WES Mariam Assefa Fund can provide funds to nonprofits working to promote inclusive economies.

Credentials evaluated by WES
When it comes to pursuing higher education in the United States or Canada, having your credentials evaluated by WES is a critical step. A WES credit evaluation helps to determine if you’re prepared for the requirements of a particular university or position. As the only international credential evaluation service in the world, WES has a long history of helping students and professionals alike. This nonprofit organization helps applicants from unstable countries get their educational credentials recognized by American and Canadian universities.
Wes is committed to advancing global mobility and the recognition of international educational qualifications to empower individuals to fully utilize their education and international work experience. Their monthly online publication, World Education News & Reviews, is aimed at international education professionals. It includes international trends, case studies, “how to” articles on foreign credential evaluation, sample documents, and profiles of countries and regions. In addition to its services, WES offers training and consulting to organizations and communities that are involved in international education.
Documents required by WES
The process of submitting the documents required by WES depends on the country of residence. Applicants should submit the highest degree completed. Additional documents may delay the completion of the report. If you have a doctorate, you do not need to send secondary school records. Please check your country’s guidelines for additional requirements. If you haven’t yet completed the WES application, you can still submit the required documents by following these instructions.
You must submit the documents in a sealed envelope. Usually, WES will not accept documents sent directly from international students. However, if you have earned a diploma from an Indian institution, you may be eligible to send the documents to WES. When sending documents, it’s important to write the WES reference number on the envelope. You can also write it on each document. WES will then review and validate the documents.
